The one-minute read

An extra seat, not a new generation

BYD announced a 2026-model-year European Dolphin Surf update on 28 September. A five-seat option joins the four-seat version; availability depends on the market, rather than becoming standard everywhere.

Cabin changes

Comfort receives a 12.8-inch display with Google Built-in and an 8.8-inch instrument panel. The gear selector moves to the steering column, while Boost and Comfort gain a heated steering wheel. Equipment remains trim-dependent.

Timing and local availability

Battery packs and motors are unchanged. BYD says the update enters its European network during the second half of 2026, with market-specific rollout. The release supplies no new price or universal delivery date. We have not verified Gulf pricing or availability for this version; European equipment should not be assumed for local cars.
