Horse Powertrain Unveils 3DHT200 13-in-1 PHEV System with 4920 Nm Wheel Torque for Off-Road Performance
Horse Powertrain, the joint venture between Geely and Renault, has unveiled the 3DHT200, a 13-in-1 PHEV drivetrain engineered for off-road capability. The consolidated system delivers maximum wheel torque of 4920 Nm and enables vehicles to tackle 45-degree slopes. It will debut on the Geely Galaxy Cruiser 700.
Horse Powertrain unveiled the 3DHT200 PHEV drivetrain system in September 2026, marking the third iteration in the 3DHT lineup and the first explicitly designed for off-road performance. The system combines a 110 kW P1 motor responsible for engine start and power generation with a 230 kW P3 traction motor, paired with a dedicated 3-speed hybrid transmission.
The integrated architecture consolidates 13 core components—including motors, controllers, integrated charger, DC-DC converter, and associated control units—achieving a 10% reduction in overall unit volume. Horse upgraded its electric motor design from a "2V / VV" to a "3V / VVV" permanent magnet configuration, increasing torque density by 15% and power density by 20%. The P3 motor sustains operation exceeding 20,000 rpm to support higher driving speeds.
The drivetrain operates in pure electric, series-hybrid, and parallel-hybrid modes, prioritizing series operation at low urban speeds before transitioning to parallel direct-drive at highway velocities. Maximum wheel output torque reaches 4920 Nm, enabling vehicles to climb 45-degree slopes. On the Galaxy Cruiser 700, the system pairs with a rear motor to form an e-4WD configuration.
The 830 kW Galaxy Cruiser 700 is projected to achieve acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in the 3-second range while delivering fuel consumption of approximately 5 L/100km. Additional vehicle-specific powertrain details are expected before the model's market introduction.
