BYD launches Da Han flagship sedan October 13 with up to 1,008 km EV range

BYD will launch the Da Han flagship sedan on October 13, 2026, following the start of battery-electric pre-sales in late August. Three variants are available: two rear-wheel-drive models and one all-wheel-drive configuration, with prices starting at 249,900 yuan (approximately $37,030 USD).

The electric Da Han delivers advanced specifications. Both rear-wheel-drive variants provide up to 1,008 kilometres of CLTC range, while the all-wheel-drive model achieves 880 kilometres. The sedan is powered by a rear electric motor producing 370 kilowatts (496 horsepower), with the all-wheel-drive version adding a 200 kilowatt front motor for combined output of 570 kilowatts.

Accommodating five passengers, the sedan measures 5,256 mm in length, 1,999 mm in width, and features a 3,130 mm wheelbase. All variants include a DiSus-A dual-chamber air suspension system, fast-charging technology, rear-wheel steering, and the God's Eye B LiDAR-based driver assistance system. Additional features include smart dimming privacy glass and a 31-speaker Devialet audio system.

Regulatory filings indicate a plug-in hybrid variant will follow, equipped with a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine and 54.489 kilowatt-hour battery, delivering 370 kilometres of electric range under WLTC testing. The Da Han positions itself above the existing Han model within BYD's Dynasty lineup, targeting the premium sedan market alongside the previously launched Da Tang SUV.
